    Movie:
    Good Hair

Chris Rock’s Good Hair is this year’s wildly popular, highly teased and anticipated documentary about the most complex relationship in the history of mankind: Black women and their hair.  The hair documentary’s roots begin at the Sundance Film Festival where it received rave reviews. And when we heard about the film back in January, we hoped it would eventually make its way to theaters.

Good Hair takes a close look at all the things Black women do to keep our heads looking hot. There’s a whole section on perms that might have you rethinking your hair routine. And Chris took at look at how hair can affect a Black womens’ lives, especially in terms of money, self-esteem and intimacy.

Mood: Ready to file divorce papers
    Movie:
    Couples Retreat

Couples Retreat is part buddy film and part romantic comedy—something we’ve dubbed a bromantic comedy. It stars Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau , Jason Bateman and big screen teddy bear Faizon Love. He’s playing a recently divorced man who brings his 20-something girlfriend (played by Kali Hawk) on a couples retreat.

Jason and Cynthia (played by Jason and Kristin) have lost that loving feeling and are seriously considering a divorce. But in one final effort to make things work, they decide it might be a good idea for them to attend a retreat and learn to love each other again. But they couldn’t just go by themselves. Oh no! They bring along three other couples, who are also facing their own challenges, along for the ride.
