Kandi Burruss is flying above more than just haters these days. She's also gearing up for the opening of Tags, a hip unisex boutique that she co-owns with veteran retailer Peaches Chin in South Atlanta.

 
She told Essence.com last month that "the clothes will look expensive but be affordable," mainly because she's a budget shopper herself. But, while she's willing to lend her star power to help promote the joint venture, don't expect to see her in the shop wrapping your purchases in tissue paper.
 
"I don't want it to be about me," Kandi said. "Fashion-forward women and men will be able to find something they like without breaking the bank."
