The Soul Train Awards made a huge splash in Atlanta last night as presenters handed out awards to today’s biggest acts.
 
The ceremony opened with a colorful performance of “Reunited” by awards hosts Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, who haven’t worked together since Hustle & Flow. Terrence looked dapper last night, but we really appreciated Taraji’
 
About eleven awards were handed out overall, but the show was rounded out by performances from Keri Hilson (she took home the award for Best New Artist), Ryan Leslie, Robin Thicke, Fantasia, Angie Stone and Raheem DeVaughn.
 
The night big winner was Beyoncé who sacked three awards, including Best R&B Soul Artist and Album of the Year. And we weren’t surprised to see her hit “Single Ladies” take the prize for Song of the Year.
 
And Michael Jackson posthumously snagged the Entertainer of the Year Award, adding another honor to the pile of accolades he’s earned since his passing away on June 25, 2009.
 
On a happier note, Jamie Fox won Record of the Year for penning “Blame It,” and Maxwell earned the award for Best R&B/Soul Male.
 
Of course we can only tell you so much about the ceremony, to see all the amazing performances (let’s not forget the soul train line and Taraji’s amazing Diana Ross get up), you can catch the 2009 Soul Train Awards on Centric or BET on November 29 at 9 p.m. EST.
