Wesley Snipes attorney’s have argued to appeal his tax convictions.
 
Wesley Snipes was not present in the Atlanta 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today. However, the Blade trilogy star had his attorneys argue appeals for three tax convictions. 
 
Wesley’s attorneys released a statement saying, “We understand that oral arguments are not regularly granted by the Court, and we are therefore grateful for the opportunity to address the Court with our legal issues and case authority supporting the same."
 
The federal appeals court has not made a decision as of yet, but Wesley and his attorneys remain confident.
 
“We are hopeful and cautiously optimistic that the Court will agree with the positions that we have raised on behalf of our client Wesley Snipes and rule accordingly,” the attorneys went on to state.
 
The actor's legal team is contesting the three-year prison sentence he received in April 2008 for refusing to pay $2.7 million dollars in back taxes because he said they were “unreasonable.” In addition to the sentence, they are also arguing that the trial should be moved from Florida to New York where the actor lives. 
 
The current trial judge denied the trial to be moved to New York.  However, Wesley’s attorneys say that the judge’s decision violates his constitutional rights. 
 
Wesley is currently out on bail while his appeals are pending.
