Beyoncé, Idris Elba 'Obsessed' with neutral home décor

    Mon, 05/04/2009 - 17:40 — whitney

We might not be able to get a look into Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s real bedroom, but thanks to her new movie, Obsessed, we can see where she cuddled up with the perfection that is Idris Elba!

Contrary to the movie’s climatic scenes, like Bey’s character Sharon throwing punches to save her family, the room is actually full of cool neutrals and soothing colors that seem, well, serene. Check out these shots of the bedroom, taken from the trailer:

It’s a far cry from the mood in the trailer (see below) but we have a few tips to transform your bedroom from humbug to Hollywood.

This Saw Floor Lamp ($85 and $175, Pier 1 Imports) is an identical replica to that used to create the fictional couple’s den. The rich, mocha-colored wood lamp comes in floor or table heights.

Simplicity is key with these Simple Organic Comforters ($140, Bed Bath and Beyond) in neutral colors like soft green, bark and natural. A bonus: You’ll be living a more eco-friendly lifestyle with this bedding, which are free of synthetic pesticides and dyes. The material is a lot more comfortable than regular ole’ cotton and feels better than new with every wash.

Take a cue from Sharon (played by Beyoncé) and add a punch of color under your comforters with these Damask Stripe 400 Thread Count Sheets ($30, Macy's). Keep with the organic theme and pick a color like apple, bronze or linen.

We love this Espresso Leaf Wood Wall Plaque ($10, World Market) way better than the art in the Obsessed room! The woodsy nature of the material and the picture add some flavor while still staying true to the original inspiration. Buy a couple and rearrange them over your bed to stamp your originality!

Keep the window treatment simple like the happily married couple did by just throwing sheers up. It’s easy and stylish, like these Fiji Stripe Sheers ($40 reduced from $60, Neiman Marcus). And they come in cool shades like merlot, gold, chocolate and rust.

We promise it’ll be no time before you are dreaming of Idris (just watch out for Beyoncé’s jabs). We heard she’s lethal in the new flick. Watch below.

Those curtain drapes falling over the side chair is really such a nice one. All the other products like the night lamp with a stand and others too are cool. I expected to see a few glass finials as well because glass finials are really outstanding for the decor of your home.

Thanks for the great tips. Funny how picking a beige can be overwhelming! You've convinced me to not skip the step of painting test areas on an actual wall.

    Thanks!

It may be a long shot but I

It may be a long shot but I think neutral colors fit perfectly with Beyonce, I don't think I could think of other better designs that would fit better. I'll admit that I love neutral colors too, I find them more classy and stylish. My entire remodeling project is based on this kind of colors and designs, I haven't bought everything yet, Dallas remodeling gave me two more weeks to wait until they finish the work.

The specialty areas that involve interior designers are limited only by the imagination and are continually growing and changing. With the increase in the aging population, an increased focus has been placed on developing solutions to improve the living environment of the elderly population, which takes into account health and accessibility issues that can affect the design. Awareness of the ability of interior spaces to create positive changes in people's lives is increasing, so interior design is also becoming relevant to this type of advocacy.

We just re did our bathroom and when i went shopping with my wife at a specialty shop i was surprised to see how much bathroom vanities could be. Home depot didn't come close to quality style and craftsmanship that you get at places like this that have only bathrooms

Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy, carries a responsibility with it.
