We weren’t surprised to see Melissa Rycroft come in third because Gilles and Shawn had been tied for first on Monday night and.
It was too close for us to predict who would be taking the trophy home. Both Gilles and Shawn had proven themselves to be solid competitors during the competition. The actor had consistently been outstanding throughout the season, but Shawn kept improving from week to week.
When their judges’ scores were combined with audience votes, the margin for victory was less than one percent. That’s the closest race that “Dancing With The Stars” has ever seen. In the end, it was Shawn who took home the prize.
