Chuck D, member of the infamous rap group Public Enemy, went on a Twitter rant earlier this year about how rappers use the N-word. He explained that he was called the N-word by a fan while he was performing overseas. He doesn’t blame the person for using it, he blames Black men for making it popular to foreigners who don’t understand the full context.
“Its a language cultural thing where they’ve seen black men call themselves that like happy ass slaves for 20yrs,” Chuck tweeted.
During the rant he also called out Jay Z and Kanye West for using the word for “Niggas in Paris.”
