9. Jay-Z talks owning basketball team
Jay-Z opened the Barclays Center with a few words of encouragement for Brooklyn. It’s kind of a big deal for Hov to own part of the Brooklyn Nets no matter how big his slice is. During one of his first shows at the newly christened sports entertainment complex, he addressed the ownership math.
"We still got a long way to go because everybody wanna diminish your accomplishment. When I look at the paper and I see them talking, "Ehh.. he owns one-fifteenth," Jay-Z told the crowd, dismissing the criticism and telling his fans to look to him as an example of how they can excel in life. "They know that if you see me standing here that you know it’s possible to achieve great things. Don’t let anybody diminish your accomplishments. It’s our motherf-cking time now."
Hov was rocking a jersey with the number 4 on it for the show.

And take a look at the first picture of the Brooklyn Nets all suited up. Kris Humphries can be seen standing in the back of the team picture.
