1. Nana Meriwether crowned Miss USA 2012
Miss Maryland 2012 has gotten a promotion! Nana Meriwether was crowned Miss USA yesterday in a special ceremony at Trump Tower.
After being named runner-up to Olivia Culpo in the 2012 pageant, Nana assumed the title of Miss USA when Olivia was crowned Miss Universe in December. Nana will serve as Miss USA until June, when the 2013 Miss USA pageant will be held at a yet-to-be determined location.
But becoming Miss USA isn’t the only impressive credential on Nana’s resume. The 27-year-old beauty also trained for the 2008 Olympics as a Volleyball player after playing professional in Puerto Rico.
Former Miss USA Kenya Moore couldn’t help but notice a striking resemblance that Nana bears to one of her "Real Housewives of Atlanta" castmates. She tweeted, "@CynthiaBailey10 your twin @MissUSA is now Miss USA bc she was 1st runner up after Miss USA was crowned Miss Universe!"
