7. Kevin Clash accuser takes back claims
It seems that Kevin Clash has been vindicated. Just a day after news broke that a 23-year-old man claimed the Elmo puppeteer started an illicit affair with him when he was 16, the accuser has recanted the allegations.
The accuser’s legal team told TMZ, “He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.”
This lines up almost verbatim with Kevin’s defense that their relationship, whatever it may have been, was legal. “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest," Kevin said in a statement. "I will not discuss it further.”
There’s no word on why the accuser has taken back the salacious claims, but TMZ.com reports that Kevin’s attorney may have been offering a six-figure settlement.
