10. Oxygen cancels Shawty Lo’s show
Oxygen has confirmed that Shawty Lo and all his babymamas are staying off the air.
At first, a rep for the network denied reports that Oxygen had caved to the demands of a petition started by author Sabrina Lamb.
“That rumor is simply untrue. The project remains in early development," a rep for Oxygen told RumorFix.com." [The show] is not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society.”
Later the network changed its tune in an official statement sent to TheGrio.com. “As part of our development process, we have reviewed casting and decided not to move forward with the special," the network recanted. "We will continue to develop compelling content that resonates with our young female viewers and drives the cultural conversation.”
