6. Quentin Tarantino drops N-word at Golden Globes
Quentin Tarantino is tired of having the N-word debate. After coming under fire for using the racial slur more than 100 times in Django Unchained, he dropped it backstage at the Golden Globes on Sunday night.
"If somebody is out there actually saying when it comes to the word n*gger, the fact that I was using it in the movie more than it was being used in the antebellum South in Mississippi, then feel free to make that case,” he reportedly told the press after Django Unchained took the award for Best Screenplay.
“But no one’s actually making that case," the director argues. "They are saying I should lie, that I should whitewash, that I should massage, and I never do that when it comes to my characters."
