Oprah Winfrey visited Olivia Pope’s office for the latest episode of "Oprah’s Next Chapter."
"Scandal" star Kerry Washington got a chance to sit down with Oprah to discuss her landmark role as the first Black woman to lead a hit drama on ABC in decades. But that’s not all Kerry has been up to these days.
Her new movie Django Unchained is hitting theaters on Christmas. She’s playing something of a damsel in distress, who is saved by her hubby Django (played by Jamie Foxx). The film was shot on an actual plantation, and the dichotomy between the two roles is not lost on Kerry.
"To go from playing that woman, to playing Olivia Pope. It felt like such a responsibility, and an honor that I would be blessed with that challenge to play these two women," said Kerry.
