9. Keyshia Cole refuses to open for The Weekend
Keyshia Cole went off on Twitter this weekend to explain why she wasn’t performing at KMEL’s House of Soul show in Oakland.
Fans expected her to be onhand for the event, but she pulled a no-show because she was offended that KMEL asked her to open for a newer act. "EVERY F-CKING YEAR I do something major for my city! @KMEL has the nerve to tell me at the last minute they want me to open for the Weeknd," she tweeted. "Then @106kmel tells us at last minute if I don’t then there’s no show! Then still uses my name when I refuse! I feel so f-cking disrespected."
Many believed that Keyshia pulled out last minute in a diva tantrum, but she made it a point to clear up any confusion about the status of her participation.
"Now people in Oakland think I Flaked!!! #STRAIGHTBULLSH-T! The only reason I’m speaking, don’t people thinking i flaked," Keyshia clarified.
She added, "No disrespect to the weekend. Why the hell would @106KMEL ask me to open for him in My home town! Where I give back! Where IM FROM! #NO"
