7. Beyoncé lip-synching at National Anthem
Did she sing or didn’t she? The New York Post and TMZ.com reported that Marine Corps Band Master Sgt. Kristin duBois told her Beyoncé was lip-synching when she took the stage Monday to perform during President Barack Obama’s Inauguration.
"It’s not because Beyoncé can’t sing. We all know Beyoncé can sing. We all know the Marine Band can play," she said. However, the organization later backed off of those claims.
The Marine Band admitted that someone was performing to a pre-recorded track, and it may not have been the "Ego" diva. Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Gregory Wolf told the Miami Herald that the band was just going through the motions. As he explained it, the Marine Corps Band opted to perform over a recording of themselves because they didn’t have time to practice with Bey before the Inauguration.
Capt. Gregory added, "Regarding Ms. Knowles-Carter’s vocal performance, no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded."
And the Wall Street Journal has video proof that Bey was, in fact, singing The National Anthem on Monday.
