8. Nicki Minaj almost arrested in Dubai
Nicki Minaj almost got locked up overseas for showing a little love. The "Va Va Voom" singer told Jimmy Kimmel that she nearly got in deep trouble in Dubai for trying to give a man a hug.
"The guys in Dubai are like so cute. It’s not even funny. So one of the rules is you can’t hug a man there if you’re not married to the man," Nicki said.
The rapper recalls that when she went for a squeeze, time began to slow down in her mind. "I felt like everything froze and every single person turned around in slow motion and was like ‘NOOoooo’ and everyone in my team thought I was about to be put in jail," she said, noting that the man she wanted to hug was actually a plain clothes cop. "It was the scariest thing."
Jimmy, who thinks Nicki is doing a great job on "American Idol," also asked what her problem with fellow judge Mariah Carey is. "I wouldn’t say that I don’t like her, but I think she doesn’t like me," said Nicki, who joked that she’s not afraid to throw down.
