2. ‘Thriller’ video girl awarded $55K from Mijac’s estate
Ola Ray has won her suit against Michael Jackson’s estate, and she’s getting the rest of her check from the "Thriller" video.
TMZ.com reports that Michael’s estate has been ordered to pay Ola $55,000 for her work as Michael’s leading lady in "Thriller." Her lawyers are getting $20,000 from the estate in the settlement as well.
Ola first filed suit againt Michael and his production company in 2009 just weeks before his tragic death. She claimed that they were guilty of breach of contract, stating that she was still owed a chunk of the profits from the video.
"Thriller" director John Landis recently settled a similar lawsuit, but he was he seeking more than $2 million from Michael’s estate.
