Fashion’s Night Out put on hiatus
Fashion’s Night Out will be staying in this September, at least in the United States. Women’s Wear Daily reports that organizers for FNO have decided to put the haute couture event on hold due to tough economic times.
Publicly, FNO allows the public to rub elbows with celebs and designers while doing some late- night shopping at high-end stores and sipping free cocktails. And it’s all for a good cause; what ‘s not to love?! Organized by Council of Fashion Designers of America and sponsored by Vogue, FNO started in 2009 to raise money for the NYC AIDS Fund.
“It’s a big event. It has a lot of tentacles,” CFDA Chief Executive Officer Steven Kolb told WWD. “This is something we’ll continue to support in other ways.” The event will carry on in other cities around the world.
