2. GirlTrek honors Harriet Tubman
GirlTrek is honoring the past while preserving the future of Black women. The organization is gearing up for its second walk to remember the legacy of Harriet Tubman.
Last year a little over 10,000 Trekkers came out for the walk, and this year organizers are looking to double their numbers for the hike on March 10. That’s when women will gather in different cities across the nation to walk together for 100 minutes in honor of Harriet.
The walk will be the kick-off of an eight-day commitment to live healthier and lead more active lives by walking at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week. To learn more visit GirlTrek.org
