2. Beyoncé to receive journalism award
Dancer, singer, actor and new mom, Beyonce, can add award-winning journalist to her long list of accomplishments.
Later this month, The New York Association of Black Journalists will honor the singer with an award for her "Eat, Play, Love" piece, which ran in the July 2011 issue of Essence magazine.
