1. ‘Sparkle’ snags #5 debut
Sparkle took the #5 spot at the box office this weekend. According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the remake raked in an even $12 million. It came in behind political comedy The Campaign (#4), family frightfest ParaNorman (#3), spy blockbuster The Bourne Legacy (#2) and The Expendables 2, which ruled the weekend at #1 with more than $28.7 million.
Although it may not have taken #1 at the box office, Jason Derulo believes that his boo Jordin Sparks gave the performance of a lifetime in her starring role. "DAMN!! Just watched "SPARKLE" in the movie theatre again! Oscar’s get ready! @jordinsparks BABY-CAKES get ready! #Tearjerker," Jason tweeted.
