4. Mitt Romney accepts GOP presidential candidacy
Mitt Romney has officially been named the Republican presidential candidate.
The G.O.P candidate promised a return to traditional conservative policies if he makes it into the White House during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.
Just as he borrowed on President Barack Obama’s popular campaign themes of hope and change, he slammed the president on unmet goals of his administration.
"If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn’t you feel that way now that he’s President Obama?" said Mitt. "You know there’s something wrong with the kind of job he’s done as president when the best feeling you had was the day you voted for him."
He added, "This isn’t something we have to accept. Now is the moment when we can do something. With your help we will do something."
