Much like Beyoncé and Jay-Z, La La and Carmelo came into the relationship with individual success.
He made headlines in early 2011 by getting traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks, much to the disappointment of fans in Colorado, where he’d been the team’s star player.
She’s been a TV host for years, hitting the national spotlight on MTV. Over the years, La La has kept things in order for various VH1 shows, including a stint as a professor on the network’s "Charm School" franchise.
The two showed that they can work well together when their production company created Tyson, a documentary about Mike Tyson that wowed audiences at the Sundance Film Festival.
La La and Carmelo have also appeared on VH1 as a couple with two reality shows about their life together. "La La’s Full Court Life," which premiered in August, is the follow-up to last year’s "La La’s Full Court Wedding."
