1. Guilt-free “reality” TV
Win: The show’s premise is what makes it one of the more interesting shows on TV. It is timely enough to poke fun at the state of celebrity and television without taking itself too seriously. You’ll find several hilarious references to other realty TV shows including Kevin Hart imitating Lil’ Scrappy’s warning shot from “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” to “put paws” on Stevie J, although in Kevin’s case, he’s threatening a child. Such scenes are a sly commentary on the absurdity of reality TV while also offering guilt-free “reality” entertainment. As long as the writing and plots stay this interesting, BET has a hit.
